Climbing Knots
- Insert rope on safety harness passing both loops, leg and waist loop
- Have rope retrace the figure 8, as shown in picture
- At the end of the figure 8 do a double fisherman's knot as the safety knot
- Double fisherman's knot: wrap rope twice, the second wrap should be below the first, then feed rope through
Belayer
- As your climber goes up the wall keep your right hand on the rope at all times,
- Use your left hand to pull the rope slack above the carabiner then pull the rope through the carabiner with your right hand. Bring your left hand below your right to pull the rope through your right hand, while not opening your right hand at any time,
The Descend :
- Once the climber wants to come down move your right hand behind your back while not letting go of the rope. Open your hand slightly to allow the rope to pass without causing friction.
- Your left hand will be on the safety system that will slowly lower the climber.
- The safety system at Wallnuts soly requires the belayer to manage the rope it DOES NOT require the belayer to handle the climbers weight.
